The dentist removes a small portion of the tooth to create space for your restoration, leaving the healthy structure intact. Next, we’ll take digital impressions of your prepped tooth to be used by the dental lab to custom-make your restoration. Until your onlay is ready, we’ll place a temporary filling to protect your tooth. 

Once we receive your onlay, you’ll come to our office for placement. The dentist will replace the temporary filling with your onlay. After a few adjustments, the doctor will bond the onlay to the tooth for a durable restoration. The last step is to polish your restoration to create a smooth, natural appearance.
